Looking for some help going from xr3 to rst. Having some trouble with the loom.
The Rst loom i got only had the engine and turbo connectors not the lights etc , sure it was off a track car.
So i want to keep my xr3 light cables etc
My problem is the rst loom only connects to the ECU and the engine and not to the fuse board.
Anyone got a minute to explain how this all works , i can add pictures if required. Cheers

as EX Auto sparks now retired, fully conversant with Bosch "K " & KE " systems, i take it you have instaled the RS turbo engine into XR3I [ correct ?? ] if so you have a major job now as RG Turbo uses both the 2 ECUs...ie...The Ignition silver ECU...plus The Injection Black ECU..both ECUs work with each other in keeping the engine running correctly. ive heard back in the day Guy fitting the RS Turbo / manifolds / exhaust / intake pipeing / intercooler all to the XR3I engine only....pressure from Turbo can be adjusted at the wastgate in the normal manner so as not to experience "pre ignition...heavy pinking " on full power...Fuel pump is the same on " K & KE " systems. im 78 now but do remember Guys doing it. if you insisted on having all the ECUs [ 2 ] and all sensors wired...i can advise on all terminals on Silver Ign ecu and Black inj ecu and sensors wiring / colurs etc...major job i assure you ive done it, but am and was Auto sparks with Bosch etc. Peter
The top picture ( just the rst loom ) the connectors at the top are for the ignition coil side , coming down its the rsturbo connectors then the ECUs that get screwed into the bulkhead. - So these all connect easy but have no lights etc.
How do i keep all the lights etc but remove the ones im not using from the fuse box back? Thanks.

What i would do, is leave the Electrical side as is...so all XR3i remains as it was....lights etc etc....you have the RS loom there....install that , i will advise later for you ....need time....how to identify the main power pick ups. then you can connect into the XR3i loom....will do this afternoon for you. That loom is in a state....very difficult from me hear to see a lot...the sensors under the manifold Colured "Brown " is thermo timer....the "Yellow" is water temp....the "Blue" is 5th injector cold start....the "Black" is idle control....."green" is knock sensor...the rest needs the loom opening up as i see lots of repairs....The pink relay should be for pump...look at the numbers on terminals, you should see "1" pulse...."15" ignition..."87" Pump supply..."30" live to Battery...".31" earth.......you need a good auto sparks there who understands the system as i do...you can use some wiring from the XR3 loom, again i dont know your skills with Auto Elect with respect ?...all "Black" wires there will be many are soldered together inside the loom...ie Coil...pump relay 15...pin 13 on silver ECU and pin 1 on injection Black ECU....the loom as i say wants opening up and tracing all circuits..reparing / installing...15 is ignition only from key...can go to its own independant 15 amp fuse...also 30 live all times could do the same with 30 amp fuse...lots to sort...Brown wires are earth 31 again i dont see earth terminals ?. best i can help from hear. Your XR3I has the same relay....so the Red 30 wires need to go to same relay....15 black the same...that should power up both ECUs as a start , your going to need a supply from the "starter activation circuit known as 50....you will see this 50 colure "Black/yellow" at 5th injector plug...so a link wire will be needed to feed pin 24 of the Black ECU. Thanks for the help , thats really helpful when i come to that bit , ive just seperated the wires im keeping from the old loom and the ones i dont need are the ones on a bundle on the floor , ive just removed the dash to get better access on the inside.Your also right the earths are all soldered together onto 1 main.
And the looms a mess because i stripped it all
