Abarth 695 Rivale
Discussion
So, the misses has pulled rank when my dreams off changing my Kia ProCeed GT for a Stinger where squashed and she is now changing her car instead.
Her trusty and reliable 59 plate Abarth 500 which she has owned since 2015 is been replaced whilst theres still a little value in the car.
Been an Abarth nut and loving hers the choice was between either a 595 Compitizone or 695 Rivale. Both very similar but she prefers the Rivale, so have put a deposit on one.
From what I can gather (so dont quote me ha ha) the 695 Rivale is a special edition born from the collaboration between Abarth and Riva.
I believe there was 3000 made in the world with around 200 in the uk. (Facebook quote, so again dont shoot me if its wrong).
There is an even more rarer model in the 695 Rivale 175 anniversary edition. 350 off these were made, 175 convertibles and 175 hardtop.
Hopefully, all been well collection will be next week so will post more specs/stats and pics when the car is sitting nicely at home.

Theres a more basic version of the fiat 500 with the convertible roof near me, for some reason I prefer it.
Looks like a great option especially with the weather we are having, and given the limited numbers I bet it will hold its value.
I hope it brings you a lot of fun.
Did try to pursued misses to get the convertible 695 Rivale but she was having none of it. Looks like a great option especially with the weather we are having, and given the limited numbers I bet it will hold its value.

Hopefully it holds it value. It would be nice and although it was a talking point upon looking at these between us, it wasnt a key point and more of a bonus if it happens. Looking at the market at minute, it's possible to happen with so few up for sale, think theres 1 auto and 4 convertibles up for sale on AutoTrader at minute.
Well the next stage has happend and after getting back from Worthy Farm camping in her 59 plate Abarth, driving on a 7 hour trip (inc stoppages) and arriving home at 6pm. We shot straight round and waved goodbye to her old car at webuyanycar around 630pm.
They offered us more then anyone else did, including the garage were buying from. So for 2 days shes going to work via peddle power.

You lucky so and so! Well your wife is.
Best looking Abarth they’ve done.
These came out just after my wife bought her first Abarth, a 2017 Trofeo.
By the time we got out of it in 2019 there were no new Rivales left so she bought a Competitzione with loads of options.
She just took delivery of a Scorpioneoro (Stupid name) the other month.
There’s a Rivale local to us though and I’m still envious when it cruises past.
I’m a huge fan. Yes you sit too high and the steering is a bit dead but they have so much character and they sound like an 80’s Turbo, think Renault 5 GTT etc.
I’m sure your wife will love it. Enjoy!
Here’s my wife’s latest one.

Must admit, that gold detailing is really nice. Suits the car so well. I'll deffo be keeping an eye out and having a proper look when I see one in the flesh. Best looking Abarth they’ve done.

According to how many left there are 318 Rivale (all variants) in the UK. Was always the best looking car they did outside the Maserati edition just a shame they never offered it with the sabelts as I’d have purchased one. Worth keeping an eye on the boot grille as it’s only 3M taped on and have seen one peeling off.

I'll keep an eye on the grille. Thanks for the heads up. As for the Sabelts, actually prefer the Rivale seats as they offer that little bit more comfort. Getting on abit and starting to enjoy the more comfort options lol
so after doing more researching have come find out some more info regarding the car.
There was 3000 Abarth 695 Rivale's made in the world.
The car was born from the collaboration between Abarth and Riva. A limited special series that combines tradition and innovation of two big signatures from the Italian manufacturing industry.
The first 350 are the 175th Anniversary (175 cabriolets /175 hatchbacks) these having different wheels, different embroidery on the seats and also 175th anniversary along the dash as well as a a badge outside.
The remaining 2650 are special editions (which ours is) and come with the supersport alloys with Brembos sitting behind them, 695 Rivale embroidery and choice of carbon or wood dash.
As escrobin has kindly pointed out, there are 318 models in the UK (this covers both 175 anniversary and special edition).
Both cars come with the 1.4 T-JET (Garrett 1446 turbo) engine that produces 180bhp / 250Nm torque and will reach 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds with a 140mph top speed. Due to the lightweight of the car 1070kg this works out at around 170bhp per tonne.
Filter wise the car comes with a BMC High Performance Filter as standard.
The exhaust is a active Akrapovic and have been told that it electronically opens 1 valve when in sport mode, am so looking forward to actually having a proper listen to this exhaust on the country roads.
Suspension on the car has the following front: McPherson with stabiliser bar, rear: Torsion beam with anti-roll bar and then for shock absorbers it uses the Koni FSD front and back.
Thursday has seemed so slow approaching and am not sure who's more excited at the minute, myself or the misses. Am sure come collection we will be fighting over the keys for the drive home.

Well the car is collected and home, was a fun 1hr30min drive home on mixed roads motorway/country roads although due to it been home time theres was plenty of traffic.
That Arkapovic exhaust sounds awesome in sport mode without been too aggressive.
I'll post a better review and photos after we've used the car for a few days. At least it's the weekend soon ;-)

Hi there,
Welcome to the Abarth 695 Club.
I am nearly 5 months into owning mine and am having an absolute ball with it.
Mine is a 695 Biposto Record Edition, one of 133 in the world (mine is car 42) and one of around 28 cars in the UK.

Loads more pics in my readers cars thread here :-
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
The Akropovic is a hoot and you'll wonder why the sport button even exists as you'll never turn it off.
Mine is lightly breathed on so running around 219bhp which in a car thats quite a bit lighter than the Rivale makes it plenty of fun.
Look forward to seeing you at an Abarth meet sometime soon
Regards
Tim
