Probably one of the rougher estates in Glasgow.

Narrowly ahead of some of the less salubrious bits of Mexico and Brazil because once you've seen what goes on there you can't unsee it.

Thread title is "on Earth". The worst parts of Glasgow are like Hampstead compared to the rougher areas of Buenos Aires. It's a great city, but Christ, some of the slums, like the area around San Lorenzo FC, are just mind blowingly bad.

When I was much younger I had a lot of wanderlust and would have been happy visiting most places. I have seen a fair number of countries but more places have dropped off my list of wanting to see or want to see again than remain on the list. I’ve not really got any interest in going to sub Saharan Africa. Dubious about central or South America (mainly for safety reasons). Not sure I want to go back to India (or other countries in that region). No interest in returning to the Middle East.

I do want to go back to China and Japan and also interested in some other Asian countries eg Korea. Lots of places in Europe I’d like to go or return to (or even live in).

Bit of a myth. The Argentinians love the English. We gave them football. I don't think I've ever been to a place where the people where more friendly when they realised I was English. Anyone wearing an England shirt is more likely to be taken out for a steak than beaten up. But be prepared to be teased about the "mano de dios"

They have a saying in Argentina to describe anyone who is unfailingly honest.....paga como un inglése / he pays like an Englishman.

Port Moresby has always been pretty low on my list. I mean, obviously I've never been but it regularly tops the league table of "places you are most likely to be robbed/raped/murdered/all of the above".

I'd rate the Amazon rainforest at the top and bottom of my list of place to visit.

Must be amazingly interesting, however the insects trying to eat me alive would be enough to put me off
