No, its not normal to have the engine, both turbos and the gearbox replaced at 115k.

Actual mileage looks to be 160k or more but he doesn't list this in the add.

I would suggest that has had a hard life and I bet it pummels black smoke on throttle.

Even if the 'new' engine has only done 50k ish, the rest of the car has done 160k so bushes and other suspension items may need doing.

Personally I would avoid any ad which starts off advertising the car has been remapped.

10 yr old, 160k+ miles, complicated/expensive car, lacking FSH, with a "professional" remap.

It should be no surprise to anyone that it's going to throw up some BIG repair bills should it??

Realistically it's a car that is approaching the end of its life, even if it is a BMW.

No surprise at all but new engine, gearbox and turbos? That is well above and beyond.

Indeed. Engine and turbos could simply be a bad map or abuse post map, although weird for them to all go at once but gearbox too?

Indeed. You'd want to see the paperwork and proof of what was actually replaced, and why, before buying this.
