I spend a deal of time as a volunteer for a local animal charity.
Last week I was told of a cat carcass on the railway, it never occurred to me that it might be one of mine. they came here as kittens as that would let them learn railway discipline, It was my beautiful boy, to say I'm devastated would be a massive understatement.
Sitting here crying too hard to type, what a wimp eh.
Got his ashes today and still crying, sorry to post on what is normally an upbeat place.

Feel awful for you.

What a horrible way for your boy to go and for you to find it.

No need to feel a wimp as most of us are pretty soft in this thread.

RIP little lad

Sounds daft I know, but he was the news service.
I work shifts, half an hour before I was due to get up he would appear on the bed and tell us what had happened in the last 12 hours.
I'll miss him

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I spent a day holding back the tears, then thought, fk it i need to let this out, and proceeded to howl about 15 mins. Felt a bit better afterwards and was slowly able to move on. I bloody loved that cat. My thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear that. It's amazing how attached we get to the little furballs.
