I have no doubt that lessons will be learned & perhaps an apology will be forthcoming.

Bradford, Asian male.....what an odd coincidence.
Think we need to be a bit more specific. "Asian" is too broad a term that covers far too many groups and ethnicities (including my own). These stories, almost without exception, typically revolve around Pakistani Muslims.

I presume her 'husband' was one of the offenders prosecuted?I have no doubt that lessons will be learned & perhaps an apology will be forthcoming.
He is being, rightfully, punished, I also presume the social worker who attended the 'wedding' is still on full pay, they need sacking and prosecuting.
More about the same case here. The police knew about it as well.

Apparently according to a government report in 2020, grooming gangs come from "diverse backgrounds". By diverse do they mean different towns and cities arouind the UK, or are they actively trying to cover up the real problem?

In the following Hansard report, Sarah Champion Labour MP for Rotherham, who was removed from the shadow cabinet for speaking out on this subject, is quite clear.
"I fail to understand why this topic is so emotive, when there is a clear picture of gangs with a similar profile being involved in sexual abuse and exploitation. This should be investigated without fear or favour, as any other gang-related crime would be. We live in a democracy, and the law should be able to be applied in an even-handed way."

As for the offenders being from diverse backgrounds, maybe we should look at the facts.

Three girls is on Netflix.
The girl who was passed around raped was labelled a prostitute by social services, a child as a prostitute. It always felt like they treated these poor children with disdain. the whistle blower was sacked which sort of shows how it all works, the thing is it has gone on for decades and still happening yet never heard anyone in social services ending up in jail.

hmm..
Wasn't that the one where they found that they come from a "diverse range of backgrounds." Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Turkish, Egyptian, Somali, Albanian. Our best detectives are on it and they just can't find any common theme at all.hmm..
NO! Racist.

hmm..
It could be true. However if 51% of gangs were white it would suggest that on a population basis Pakistani Muslim gasngs were still overrepresented.hmm..
The 2020 report in fact says
"Some studies suggest an over-representation of Black and Asian
offenders relative to the demographics of national populations"
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governmen...
Seems data quality is poor.
"In 2013 CEOP found that of the 52 groups they examined that provided useable ethnicity data, 26
(50%) comprised all Asian offenders, 11 (21%) all White offenders, 4 (8%) all Black offenders, 2
(4%) exclusively Arab offenders, and 9 (17%) were mixed groups. Of the 306 offenders in total,
75% were Asian (CEOP, 2013). As discussed earlier, there are many potential reasons for an
over-representation in the data and CEOP notes that ethnicity descriptors are imprecise and not all
police forces responded to their request for information, meaning that these figures are unsuitable
for generalisation. "

Is it just me or does that second quote look like it is going out of it's way to avoid finger ponting?
From that BBC article:

How f
ked up must that poor girls domestic life been that marriage to, and living with, her rapist was a good idea? I don't care about the race element, but my heart breaks for that poor kid and the misery her young life must have been.

the whole thing is a black hole really, would take 100s of billions to really sort out, unfortutely there is a price for poverty and this is it."Her social worker recommended she be allowed to live with the older man and his family, care documents show."
