Can't get my Nitrons to click

Ok they have been on the car for a few years now and set quite hard. But I decided to soften up the ride a bit and I can only get two of them to click. The other two click all the way + and -. but the other two will only click once or twice at the extreme end of the adjustment.

Any Ideas?

The clicking feeling on Nitron's is very feeble even on the new ones.
If you have rosejointed ones check that they are still free to move. Chances are they will have seized.

the central adjuster rod is stuck inside the piston, if you tighten to full stiff then adjust back two clicks and bounce the car up and down a few times, then adjust back another two clicks and bounce the car up and down and keep repeating this until all the way back to full soft you might find that the bouncing frees the central adjuster rod off. if not it's return to nitron time for a rebuild. they're due a rebuild at that age anyway

moral is : adjust your dampers more often!!

Ok I know I should have adjusted them more often.

So How much will a rebuild cost? Would a small dose of wd40 be any good or could it damage them?

rebuilds are about 50 pounds per damper i think.

the dampers are very well sealed, i doubt very much whether you'd get any penetrating oil to where it's needed ..
