991 GT3 RS vs 991 GT3 prices
Discussion
Probably biased here as 991 GT3 RS owner but I really dont get why there isn't a bigger RS premium over the standard GT3, the RS is technically a far superior and higher spec. car and if you take out the roll cage you immediately save 30kg, better, seats, brakes, wheels, more carbon/magnesium in the bodywork etc

As an example I wanted a gt3 but never had any interest in the rs .Righly or wrongly perceived as more hardcore and the looks are a bit challenging for some .franki68 said:

How much of a difference would you expect??2016 RS is circa £150k, and a simlar age GT3 or older (not many 2016's) is circa £105k to £110k.
2018 991.2 RS is £185k+ and similar age 991.2 GT3 is £135k to £145k.
There's still a circa £40k premium from GT3 ro RS, whichever way you look at it - and that's actually probably more than the majority of list prices when new (once specced).
Also, the GT3 is a highly competent car in its own right and IMO the RS is not "far superior", but I would definitely say a GT3 is technically far superior to say a GTS.
I think the issue is these cars are not launched at the same time, there were three batches of 3 RS (the last one with the controversial OPF but the superb WP). I remember the 991.1 3RS selling in the early days close to 300K, but the gen 2 and batch 3 didn’t call similar premiums. What is i I interetesting is if you look at model price evolution (used) over time, the 3 and 3RS follow a similar pattern.
The 992 GT3 is probably the first GT3 which attracts such premium… for now. And it looks like none of the ones advertised at 300K sold for such price. I’d say the production delays and realisation this is a great GT3 contribute to prices being up with buyers for whom the premium is not an issue relative to their wealth and love for cars.
As for whether the 991.2 3RS is a technically better car… being in a position to compare both, I wouldn’t say so. They are different. An RS remains an RS but the 992 GT3 is really an improvement and with technical features the 991 3 RS doesn’t have.

Yes I specced my car with no cage ...... as not a race car so no need to scrutineer it . I think the RS is a better daily than the GT3 as slightly higher ride height ( Especially the rear due to bigger wheels ) so with lift can clear any speed bumps that seem to be really popular . Yes the devil is in the detail , all the carbon bits , especially the WP make it special . Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
