Hopefully I have posted in the right place.

Long story short(ish) my Dad passed away unexpectedly last year. He drove an mk3 MX-5 which my Mum does not want to drive. To give her time to change her mind I have kept the car in my garage and over the past 9 months I have been doing various jobs on it (new clutch, new discs & pads, fixing parking dings, oil change, service etc…) so that if she is still adamant she will not drive it I can help her sell it and then buy a Fiat 500. She has always wanted one but my Dad refused to drive one biggrin

She says she is ready for me to sell it. Apart from a new set of tyres all round I have one more job to do which is to track down an ABS fault. Problem is the car is now SORN and out of MOT and none of my code readers can read ABS faults. (I have checked the sensors with a multimeter and cleaned them up and they seem fine).

So a cheeky question is does anyone have code reader I could pay some beer tokens to borrow for an hour or so to try and track down the fault please? I am in North Wales near Chester if anyone could help me! Obviously I would come and collect it and then return it.

Failing that can anyone recommend a code reader that will read MX5 ABS codes that does not cost a fortune?

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

What's happening with the ABS, what's it doing or not doing?

ABS light is on as is the TCS light. No issues with braking and no obvious faults such as corroded sensor wires.

ABS light staying on before moving the vehicle points to the ECU not seeing a sensor

ABS light coming on when moving points to sensor not sensing 1 or more hubs rotating

There's mention of ECU clear codes and re-set here(not that I know anything about this) https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=11...

If the ECU isn't seeing a sensor, the ECU can be disconnected and the sensor cables to it continuity tested, you may need a diagram for ECU Pin Numbers or be able to tell which cables are from the sensors by looking at them
