Just ordered a new X3 on a lease.

I had assumed that it'd be the new LCI model, but paperwork stated it's a 2021.25 model year and I'm wondering if it will actually be the last of the pre-facelift models, rather than the new one.

I've had a google, but can't find clarity.

Anyone know which model a 2021.25 refers to, please?

Is the car in stock? Or factory order, I think the LCI would be treated as an MY22 car, if it's a factory order you're golden, if a stock car I'd check by getting the VIN and asking via BMW genius chat.

Thanks.

I’ve just had an email from the supplying dealer who has confirmed that the 2021.25 model year refers to the very last run of the current pre-LCI model.

I’m actually perfectly happy with that as the car has the same iDrive 7 sat nav system as the LCI car, along with many of the other updates.

Here in 6 weeks. driving

I take delivery of a fully loaded ex Demo at the end of the month registered March this year with 3500 miles and it’s 11k cheaper I think all that’s new on MY 22 is a bit of tweaking externally.

The LCI is quite comprehensive inside and out including adding MHT, however nothing wrong with the 2021 car or the 2020 versions for that matter.

Only certain ones the petrol engines didn't get it until the LCI like the M40i for example, it's now across all the range, so it depends which version you have.

Does it make any noticeable difference?

I did have a read up and a couple of things were interesting 11 bhp increase in power during aggressive acceleration and when driven gently there is an increase in MPG. It’s main functions are to harvest power from braking and coasting to a second battery, which then runs the electrical systems.

I’ve ordered the 2.0d MHT.

Interesting to read up on it. Good tech. Hopefully will get near 50mpg out of it!
