Ok I don’t usually use this stuff but had a voucher so thought I would try some.

Put just over 50ml of millers in the tank the filled my Saab 2.8 V6 which is 58 litres with vpower.

Around 30 miles after filling up car started misfiring even under light acceleration. Didn’t throw an EML. My reader picked up cylinder 6 the most with around 15 misfires and around 3-6 misfires on the other 5 cylinders.

I have had a misfire before on cylinder 6 but only in 5th/6th gear under full throttle at around 2500rpm but this was in all gears with light throttle.

Could this be too higher octane?

I never use this stuff normally only did it because I had a voucher.

To add I have a maptun stage 1 tune.

I expect it's coincidence. I highly doubt it would have any material effect on your engine.

That was my initial thoughts. I always thought higher octane was better, giving a better burn etc.

Did a little digging and can’t see why it would bring a misfire on.
Unless I’m missing something.

Thanks for your input.

It's so highly diluted (less than 1 in a 1000) it's hard to believe it does anything.

Should make that much difference probably coincidence smile

I had a V6 Aero 9-3 years ago and that ran best with just V Power as It was re mapped on that fuel, never seemed to like BP or Esso premium though!

Yes I found the same with BP ultimate. Cold start is rough and can feel hesitation particularly around 2-3k RPM. I always use vpower or Tesco 99 goes down well as a second option.

Isnt higher octane harder to ignite hence why high tuned cars use it to prevent knock?
Being harder to ignite could cause misfiring?
Then again i get no issues with high octane in a mk3 fiesta, full tank even gives a tiny bit more mileage out of the tank compared to 95 ron.

Ok update. I filled the tank with vpower as I normally do no millers added and misfire has stopped under load.

Confused???

Doesn’t make sense to me.
