It's not unbelievable at all. It is situation normal for the climate lobby. All Armageddon modelling predictions and "rules for thee".

To be fair EV's aren't suitable for everyone depending on your personal situation.

As for Sharma there's clearly nothing to see here and everything was done within the rules that apply to all.

You'll moan and complain about it but if there was an election tomorrow you'd still vote for five more years of them taking the piss out of you like this on a daily basis hehe

I wish English had a distinction between singular and plural like French does.

What is it with this new silly forum meta, that certain people are intent on how people vote - and deciding for them. Its confined to a very small group, but the thread title isn't "How did Issac Hunt (or any other poster vote)" - but Ministerial hypocrisy.

The biggest irony was the PH voting intentions thread, only to be told by certain users "how and why others vote or will".

Its a joke.

Its the same group of users time and time again.

Hypocrisy has been part and parcel of government for ever. Its even more stupid when you are limiting others freedoms (rightly or wrongly as I'm not an expert on quarantine).

It’s the new normal. Rich continue as normal, plebs face restrictions on everything.

Besides, what are you going to do about it?

You would think a Tesla would suit her needs or perhaps what they expect us to use, trains and buses.

Seriously?
He is the Climate Minister.
Surely even some basic intelligence might have suggested that in this, of all years, perhaps conducting a few of those flights by zoom might have made a little sense.
Instead, he starkly highlights the rank hypocrisy that we all know exists.

Nothing to see?
We can agree to disagree.

I’ll agree that he has indeed beautifully abused the privileged rules that apply to him, & highlighted the “one rule for them, another for the rest”. If you’re happy with that, crack on!

It's only unbelievable if you haven't been paying attention

For the rest of us

We'd probably die of shock if the government climate minister WASN'T flying around the world

Sorry Mike I think that might have been a little too subtle smile

Every single time they pull your (vous Isaac) pants down it's "all within the rules".

Doesn't make it right though.

Not sure any Tesla has reached the price of a third hand Golf yet. Maybe she should have led with that, rather than blathering about the horrors of having to pop to a service station M&S to get a sandwich.

If I went out tomorrow and got a job for a green company unless they paid for it or it came with the job I couldn't afford to go out and buy a new EV or even a second hand one.

I get that it looks hypocritical and it isn't the reason she's given but unless it comes with the job and she's refused it I don't think it's necessarily right and fair to expect her to pick up the tab for it.

Gary Linekar has been preaching about it recently. Funnily enough he doesn't extend his views to his choice of vehicle either.

^Yes but his and other like minded people will say that their actions as individuals are but a non existent drop in the ocean.

But when flipped around and the argument is about us cutting our noses off to spite our face about going green when China.India etc are storming ahead with coal and oil, they say,...

"but we should be setting an example"....

Bloody hypocrites.

Which bit is worse - being a hypocrite over climate, or over public health by dodging all the rules others have to obey?

No wonder so many rules come in that are 'no biggie' when the people creating them can ignore them. Or just put the new bills on their well padded expenses...

And that's the kicker... the govt would like us to trust what the spokesperson says. In this instance the excuses given show either a) a lack of understanding and prejudice against or b) an unwillingness to buy one.

So when she says stuff about increasing EV usage, no one is going to trust a word she says. Thus she's now a very poor choice of spokesperson.

We do, thou and you, with the plural, you, also serving as the formal, as in French.

Thou has fallen out of use in some places, but us still relatively common in others.
