Hi all changing the rear springs on my 97 535i.. This car has the m sport suspension package out of the factory, I've purchased a sachs rear spring from euro car parts only thing is it's loads bigger than my old spring is this just due to age etc? Is it the right spring? Thanks in advance all!

Unfortunately you can ONLY get the correct springs from BMW now

NO ONE makes them for sale aftermarket

Speak to BMW Cotswolds and ask for the BMW 5 forums discount

I've bought OEM springs from them and they weren't expensive at all; a lot less than I expected

However, if you want as near to OEM but aftermarket, the Eibach pro-kit springs will be perfect; you'll drop around 10mm rear and 10-15mm front, which IMO is the perfect wheel/arch gap for an E39 Sport wink

No; they'll just be a generic 'spring' that the manufacturers seem to stick to the SE & Sport parts unfortunately

And again no sorry; the part numbers for the springs are no longer available on RealOEM; that's why it's best to speak to BMW Cotswolds; give them the last 7 digits of your VIN and they'll tell you straight away what springs you need and their prices etc

For the Eibach pro-kit springs; these are what you need: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122802722320?hash=item1...

But do a search on their part number: E2063-140 - you may be able to find them cheaper; I just took the 1st link for an example

Re: part number availability, fairly sure a link to the spring table has been floating around this forum/the net. I think it was in Russian, but there wasn't much to translate.
Couldn't find one for Alpina sadly

I haven't seen it on here unfortunately; I did see it on bimmerforums.com a while back, but that's disappeared again too

Yeah its always a pain getting bits right for the m-sport suspension the correct arb bushes are unobtanium i had to go after market in the end :/

Cotswolds bmw came back at £120 a spring which is fair enough for a main dealer, i've found the eibach set for £164 though so ill just get those and do all four corners more fun and games with the scary spring compressors! haha..

Thanks again for the help! smile

No worries

The ARB bushes I always polybush TBH; I'm not a fan of poly bushing the other bushes as I still want the compliance of rubber for every day road driving

Full set of Eibach pro-kit springs for £164 is good going though; they'll serve you well thumbup
