Hi all,

AXLES sorry the title is wrong my bad

I'm looking for some advice here, I have a 5 month old lease car and already the rust is quite severe I'm my opinion. I have looked at the caps and even the wheel caps are giving off some white limescale colour which doesn't come off.

I'm concerned that somethings not right here what are my options here? Attached are photos.

I've just updated the pictures, the brake discs are spotless, it's the metal surrounding the discs that are concerned, even the calipers have rust on them

You can see just looking at the rust it’s had a wheel acid used to clean it, but it’s nothing to worry about.

OP as above, if a lease and under warranty and won't cost you, just get the dealer to run an eye over it when you have time free.

+1

And it’s a Peugeot. This early disc rust will be the least of the OPs worries in a year or two smile

What makes you think that's a wheel arch laugh

What do you call the bit of bodywork closest to the wheel/tyre?

As it won't have seen any road salt yet it's most likely from the harsh acid based cleaners that the local illegal immigrants charge a fiver for.

That and being a cheap french car that will be built down a price that will make a yorkshireman wince.

You can take them off and paint them yourself but a bit pointless on someone else's car.

the plastic wheel nuts covers going white is an indication an agressive acidic wheel cleaner has been used.

brake discs will rust because they are bare metal

As said this is what using cheap wheel cleaner does for you…

That's caused by an acidic wheel cleaner probably from a hand carwash, nothing to worry about.
