Right, it's been a while....
I'm going to go straight to the hidden platform 6 at Holborn.... Didn't know it was there? Well, the locked entrance to the disused platform is actually hidden behind some grey panels at the end of the Piccadilly Line Platform 4 making it look like a storage cabinet.
There's a myriad of hidden tunnels and walkways making a Schroedlingers Cat twist a distinct possibility. It's immoral I know, but even though it was abandoned on 16/8/1917 the recent Olympic bid makes it viable IMO.
Now how's that for an opening gambit? ;)

I'm tempted but can see myself getting into serious trouble if I play this so soon after the bomb attacks.
BTW, I reckon you have made a mistake taking that disused platform at Holborn; it serves the Piccadilly Line and the next stop is Russell Square which is closed because of the bombing. You'll have to turn back on yourself and therefore are disqualified.

Let down by a lack of local knowledge... I should have gone with my initial thoughts and played Down Street instead. That'll teach me to try and play remotely 
It had all the hallmarks of a classic opener too!
I could never understand the rules. Can anyone find a link? The only thing is it has to be done from memory?

Yes but if he is in the disused he must be running empty so he can reverse at Aldwych. I am not sure you can claim he was in Nip as the closure at Russell St. is temporary not permanent. Still leaves you to move if you ask me.
Aldwych's Status in Mornington Crescent
There has been much debate recently as to whether or not Aldwych can be regarded as a valid destination in the game titled Mornington Crescent (popularised by Radio 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue). Since the station is now closed, the 1972 Anderson-Perkins rules indicate that closed stations can only be used after the previous player has performed a Johnson switchback manoeuvre (who can forget the great ending move of the 1987 championships). However, since the line is still maintained and trains are run often for filming companies, I believe the Hughs amendment to the 1997 rule on terminating lines could be applied and Aldwych used as a normal location in the game.

Agreed. That's a similar situation to the one that led to a re-run of the 1978 Anglian Region semi-finals. Very messy.

Ah, good point; I forgot about the 'empty' rule which allows reversal of direction.

In the spirit of 'carry on regardless', I would suggest secular. Incidentally isn't it your move or are you knocking following your challenge?
