Guys,

In this hot weather with the roof off the gearstick and handbrake are becoming way too hot to touch. It's not just me being a wuss because I've challenged all my passengers and they can't do it either.

So far the best solution is to wrap an old rag over the gearstick and insulate it like that.

Is it possible to get a wooden / plastic top for the gearknob? Any other ideas?

Cheers,
Mark

When driving back from Le Mans this year in Cerb had same problem, had to drive with small pad of pink bog paper stuck to palm of left hand, looked very sordid, but did the trick.

There was a fix for the early cars which entailed fitting some sort of heat sink on the bottom of gear lever, which you can get retro fitted by a dealer. Mine is supposed to have it fitted but still gets very hot so not sure.

Golf glove does the trick ! I find it great for drying the leather cloth I wash the car with too!

Mine is the same, but the clutch is very heavy too so I try not to change gear. So much torque it rarely matter what gear you are in.
