So one of the perks of our business credit card is we can redeem Avios points, I have never really used a CC for business but thinking about spending around 10k per month on the card which would give me around 120k points per annum (I have about 22k now from the last month and a half).
Having never used Avios either can anyone tell me if there actually worth building up?
We normally have an annual all inclusive holiday to somewhere like St Lucia, Mexico etc so thinking of using them next summer to upgrade or hopefully know the price down quite a bit?
If 120k is still worthless I will probably keep building them up to a level where I can actually benefit from using the points.

I became a bit of an air-miles junkie 12 years ago. Back in the days of BMi - got a BMi Credit Card and achieved silver status.
If you've ever watched the film Up In The Air..... that was me!
I ended up buying the more expensive tickets just to build up the points. BA took over BMi, changed the goal posts and ended up loosing a chunk of them slipping to Bronze. Kept the Avois account going but got Priority Pass for lounges and abandoned the quest for maximum points.
They can be handy to have and if you fly a lot, it's possible to enjoy the perks they offer. At the sort of spending you're looking at I would think you could amass a fair chunk towards upgrades and the like. Just don't let the pursuit of that cloud your buying decisions.

As a basic idea of what they are worth;
Short haul return (i.e. Heathrow to Dublin) is about 9,000 points
A return in business class to NYC is between 100,000 and 120,000 points depending upon the time of year.
Pre-Covid I flew well over 150 flights a year for work, and have basically funded a decades worth of family holidays using Avios and hotel points. They are well worth having.
