Daytime drive - North Bristol/South Gloucestershire area

Hi all,

Having retired I already go for a drive every weekend whatever the weather, but also enjoy a daytime drive during the week.
Just wondering if anyone would be interested in meeting up for a drive during the week, possible drive then stop for lunch or breakfast then drive ?

No idea where we would go (any suggestions welcome) so am happy as long as I am driving my Vantage.

Just see what happens.

Im Nailsworth (work) during the week but Dorset weekend. I sometimes bring my V8V up during work or Im in my Focus TDCI! Next time I bring it up ill let you know.

I used to drive a fair fair way to drive up the 'ladder'over the common then around Dursley and Wotton

Pretty epic roads for the area right around there

Waterley Bottom for the lunch too!

Jules, I know that area well around Nailsworth & the ladder, they are lovely roads, I used to take my Dad (when he was around) out in the Aston, we’d regularly go to Minchinhampton common to fly radio controlled model aircraft, followed by a drink & a bite to eat in the Old Forge, lovely memories.

I used to arrange meets for vx220.org the route was

The Compass Tormarton (big car park - right off the M4)
Old Sodbury
Chipping Sodbury
Wotton-under-edge
Nailsworth - Up the ladder, over the common
Horsley
Dursley
Wotton-Under-Edge
Waterley bottom or the Compass for Lunch

Coincidentally, I also live near Thornbury on the A38 (Almondsbury). Would also be up for a run-out if I can make whatever day is decided upon.

Paul, plus others do you fancy a drive out maybe one day next week. As a suggestion we could go around the Cotswolds, say Nailsworth, then maybe up on the common to the Old Forge for a drink, then take it from there.? Open to other suggestions as well.

You just beat me to it, just checking the weather.
It looks like Wed/Thur/Friday are the best, I am available for any of these.
Where do you suggest we meet and what time?
Cotswold's sounds good.

Yeah I think so, on the A38 just past (about a mile) Thornbury, it used be a Wyvale garden centre.
