Gunman on the loose in Plymouth

BBC news now reporting an "incident" in Plymouth. No details of what it might be.

There is a lot of speculation including maybe 2 gunmen. North prospect was notorious in the 80s, but really isn't that bad anymore. Regularly cycle through late at night to and from work with no dramas. Just sounds like one or two nutters, hope its resolved quickly!

I was on twitter just scrolling away looking for info on my daughters school and somehow it popped up. How does that even work when I don't live remotely close or display an interest in that part of the country!

A local poster on Reddit reported in the last 20 minutes:

From what I can gather there was a shooting inside a flat across the road from Wolseley Road Lidl, where there were possibly 2 deaths. Then the shooting continued outside the flats where 2 or 3 more were shot (not sure on fatality there though - conflicting info about). The police arrived and either shot the shooter dead or he shot himself.

Both Cornwall and Devon air ambulances are in the air. There is a 3rd coming from Wales but probably unrelated or could be to provide cover?

The Cornwall air ambulance has just been to Derriford Hospital.

Looks like both air ambulances are now retuning to their home bases after dropping off at the hospital so what ever happened is probably over.

Police shot him apparently (if twitter is to be believed)

If all the other stuff being posted is to be believed it sounds horrendous!

I can confirm the police helicopter has finally gone so whatever awfulness has happened over there is now done

Sounds particularly grim. Reminds me of the Derrick Bird rampage in West Cumbria about a decade ago, started off with shooting family followed by random members of the public.
