The Westminster Mound, spiralling costs, dying plants and resignations aplenty!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-58197...

Tory run Westminster Council have bamboozled and vexed their residents with the bizarre monument, then astonishingly they demanded the resident pay to walk up the hill the hard working residents paid for, then performed an embarrassing U-turn (are embarrassing U-turns a tory speciality?). Now the true costs are known, originally £3.3 mil but now estimated at £6,000,000.00, and the 'attraction' is dying, the deputy leader has resigned.

Tory leader Racheal Robathan stubbornly remains as leader, surely Robathan needs to go, along with the entire council?

The only bamboozling thing here is not the spiralling cost, but how a pile of mud could initially have cost £3.3 million

I feel strongly that governments, local or national should never waste hard working British tax payers money, maybe you are quite happy with such profligate waste?

I fully agree

When are you going to start a thread about the SNP pissing cash up the wall?

Come up here if you want to see 'a government' wasting money!! It beggars belief, at least you have some form of (minimal) accountability, our lot can, and do, misappropriate funds with impunity in the full knowledge there will be zero consequence!

Please feel free to start a thread on such waste and if I feel a contribution is worthwhile, I will happily contribute.

Where shall i start?

The missing billions of covid cash
Only 3 hospitalities businesses to get a full grant two of whom are owned by SNP MSPs
The ferry mess
The thousands of laptops with no operating system
The airport bought for £1 and is now worth less

Exactly this - they would have to pay me to walk up it!

Whoever looked at the plan and thought 'This is going to be great' is clearly in the wrong job. No-do doubt had no experience in anything or has taken a massive brown envelope. (only way I can logically understand it!)
