First time Aston owner

I may be a bit excited - I've loved this design ever since the DB9 came out; when the Vantage followed I loved that just as much. Now, after a torrid but successful few years, I've been hankering after a fun, involving weekend car and I'm going to fulfil a long-held dream. I've just put down a partial payment on it. By "it", I mean my manual 2009 V8 Vantage Roadster in tungsten silver. Writing that is making me shiver. Cannot wait to collect it.

I was the same, remember going literally weak at the knees in my mid-late teens spotting a DB9 in traffic and ever since that was that. Then the Vantage came along, and for what I need (want) right now it just makes sense.
I'm two months into my ownership of a 2006 coupe (tungsten too). The worst part so far is not being able to see the outside when you're sat on the inside.

Thanks chaps. It's in the shop now being made even more beautiful/immaculate. Doubt I will get it in time for that Simply Aston event, but looks like a fun thing to do in the future for sure.
The question is whether I will get it in time for our holiday at the end of the month, and whether I want to collect a new-to-me car and immediately embark on a 3-hour trek involving some M25 (don't like the sound of crawling along that in a manual - been years since I've had to do that), and also splitting the family into two cars.

A Vantage can be surprisingly calm and happy going slowly, then completely changes character when pressing the accelerator pedal.
I expect you will find the clutch pedal has quite a heavy action. Possibly it might already have a non-standard twin-plate clutch fitted, but if not, when it is time to replace your clutch, have the twin-plate version fitted and the pedal action will be far lighter.

You might want to look in the boot fusebox before you set off. Right hand side behind an opening piece of trim. Slide out the puncture repair goo thing and the fuse box is below that. If Fuse 22 has not already been removed, you can take it out, which will then keep the exhaust flaps open throughout the rev range. Normally they would be closed between (about) 1,500rpm and (about) 4,000 rpm).
I have assumed that the fuse box location in the Roadster, is the same as the Coupe.

Lucky for me, that I had last minute doubts and so mentioned it might not be the same.
Did you 'pick up' on the supercharged Grigio Titanio Vantage (Roadster from memory) with Bond gadgets?
I had the car on my list, but apart from the first registration date, knew nothing else about it, so assumed it could be one owner from new and therefore never advertised for sale.
Then stumbled upon a film by one of the YouTube reviewers.
The Bond gadgets are fitted to display at shows, to raise money for charity.
Don't think the owner is a PHer.

yes I subscribe to that Youtube channel (JayEmm on cars) and was interested to see that car ! It was good to see the owner raising money for charity with his novel additions
I drive now my Vantage Roadster one year, did 15'000 KM and I can say: it is driving with pure pleasure. For me it is relaxing cruising, pure enjoyment. Nobody cuts your road, no beaming, no middlefingers... friendly people on the crosswalk salute. Its driving throu the scenery in a special mode. Enjoying the leather smell, the Aluminium Dashboard, the sound of the engine.
For me it is not a racing car at all (to heavy) and not the fine handling I am used from the Lotus. But it must not be. The Audio is oldstyle, the navigation olderstyle... but: who cares. I am listening Chopin and Beethoven (in the Lotus: JudasPriest and Deep Purple). All works and I am absolutely proud to have the chance, to own and drive such a car.
I wish you the same fun with yours as I have with mine.

Get the CC CHARGER kit that gives you the option of loud or not when you want it at the touch of a button. Leaving fuse 22 in place. Costs around £70 from Clive Chezdney.Putt CC CHARGER into Google and it will all be there for you.
