Merc windscreen wiper mech, a used assembly is available for just under £200.

Would a machine shop be able to replace the failed ball joint, looks to be a pressed in part.

If it's unlikely I'll just order the bit rather than spend my time under the arches trying to find somewhere.

I've just realised the socket is a plastic nylon kinda thing the just pushes in.

O/D 20mm ball size 17mm. Any ideas where I may be able to get one?

ETA Apparently Audi A6 uses a similar size ordered an insert so we'll see.

A bit 'shade tree' but would probably work.

I've received the nylon sockets, not reassembled but looks like they're going to work.

It feels a bit snug so plan on bedding it in with some cutting paste, then clean and re-grease before final assembly.
