Which one should I buy?

I was all up for the Cerbie, but not too sure about the running costs/reliability. Previous car Elise, so think an Exige maybe a good next step.

Any suggestions?

Have you driven the Cerb? If you had I doubt you would be asking these questions.

My Cerbera and I do quite a few track days where Elise and Exige are also run. Or should that read also ran!

Seriously it depends on the circuit. Somewhere twisty like Cadwell will favour the Lotus. Circuits like Spa, Goodwood, Thruxton would favour
the Cerbera. My passenger and I watched a yellow turbo charged Elise fall off the circuit in front of us on the exit of Pouhon at Spa - in excess of 110mph when he started the spin. Possibly because he ignored blue flags and pushed a bit too hard in an effort not to be passed.

I suspect the Cerbera could be rather more expensive to run but using Independants like Joospeed and Raven would keep some costs contained.

They're very different beasts. Exige probably more satisfying to drive on track, but no comparison on the road - exige is too extreme and frenetic - Cerbera is probably much more satisfying. You'll have to drive both to decide...

In a recent Autocar, the test Exige's year waw over...

They loved it, but cosmetically it suffered badly - was used all year round which didnt help. Having seen JeremyC's only car, a 4.5 Cerbera, still in mint condition, maybe the Cerb's a better bet.

Thought he had that wooden thing for when he wants to drive fast?
