Like him or loathe him, you can't deny that he has a fabulous sense of what the public like.
A bit like popular DJ and personality Chris Evans then. His car show went well,"In 2015, Evans signed a three-year deal to lead a new Top Gear line-up. On 4 July 2016, he announced that he would be stepping down as presenter of Top Gear."

So what's cowells angle? (And while we reference top gear it could be different lines...)

I suspect car people won't be impressed, but I would lay money that the show will be a ratings & commercial success.

He was in the music business a long time, got asked to be on someone else's show and then nicked the idea and made his own.
Doesnt mean the car show will be good.

On the flip side he stole an idea and made it 'better' (I loath/ed all those 'talent' shows). If he can do the same with motoring it could be interesting He was in the music business a long time, got asked to be on someone else's show and then nicked the idea and made his own.
