Just when you thought we might see less of the millionaire tosser on TV he is apparently launching a new car show. Oh joy. Can't wait to miss it!

I wonder if he will be testing an Ariel Atom, I think at top speed his face still wouldn't move.

Exotic car owners have a tough enough time as it is with everyone thinking they're all egotistical tosspots. Now we'll have proof.

Wonder where he expects to succeed where many with serious petrolhead credentials haven't?

I guess we'll have to see what he means by car show...

Like him or loathe him, you can't deny that he has a fabulous sense of what the public like.

I suspect car people won't be impressed, but I would lay money that the show will be a ratings & commercial success.

A bit like popular DJ and personality Chris Evans then. His car show went well,
"In 2015, Evans signed a three-year deal to lead a new Top Gear line-up. On 4 July 2016, he announced that he would be stepping down as presenter of Top Gear."

The weirdo and the blanc. "Should" have worked as they're both popular entertainers. But I think old new (CMH) top gear worked so well as it was built on a winning combination professional knowledge, genuine passion and quality showmanship that so many pretty non car-ry people - and I include people whose appreciation of cars is one-upping the jonses which is as far as most people care for cars today - lapped up the entertainment. No other car show has touched what they did, or got anywhere near the success.

So what's cowells angle? (And while we reference top gear it could be different lines...)

Does he?

He was in the music business a long time, got asked to be on someone else's show and then nicked the idea and made his own.

Doesnt mean the car show will be good.

On the flip side he stole an idea and made it 'better' (I loath/ed all those 'talent' shows). If he can do the same with motoring it could be interesting

I seem to remember him having a TR6 for many years before he hit the big time. He has since owned several more expensive enthusiast cars as his expanding budget allowed.

I tend to think that any car related show is better than none.

Someone needs to tell Cowell he needn't bother.

He's tried very hard to make sure all popular music sounds the same - but seeing as how all SUVs look the same, there's nowt for him to do.

I bet it's a James Cordens Car Pool Karaoke type thing and very little to do with the subject of actual cars.
