Zigermeet - Anyone here been?
Discussion
When things get back to some level of normal and we are back traveling around the Alps, I've always wanted to visit the Zigermeet Airshow.
Has anyone been?
Going by the video on youtube it looks like a fantastic setting. Within the Alps with aircraft noise bouncing off the hills.

I've not been personally but i have á friend living in Austria who goes regularly, and of course I'm sickened with envy at all the pictures and videos of the shows there. As you say, a terrific setting to watch aircraft, and if you fancy a hike, it's possible to see the aircraft from above, quite a unique experience. On top of that, the variety of aircraft is always exotic, every thing from Vampires and Hunters, through F5s and F18s, even the Swiss PC trainers are really beautiful looking. If you have the means, absolutely go for it!
Yeah definitely on my "to do" list within the next couple of years.
I was in the Alps a few years ago at Reichenbach Falls and we trekked to a higher point with a good view of the surrounding valley when 6 F18's came swooping down. They then all performed a series of touch-and-go's at Meiringen airfield which was literally 3 miles away, climbing on afterburner then coming straight up the valley over our heads as they climbed over the mountain tops. The sound was incredible as it bounced around the mountains on an otherwise perfectly quiet calm late spring afternoon.
I've been to many airshows in the UK, but ticking off Zigermeet will be a great experience I am hoping.
