Where do I start
Discussion
I am in my mid twenties and I am soon to be ending my second lease. My first was one of those ridiculous Scirocco deals in 2018 and currently have a Black Edition Seat Leon (Nice car but as boring as it gets).
I'm out of the loop with lease deals, I don't know if they make them like they used to, but I recall when I went for my Leon, there wasn't many unbelievable deals.
I am now looking at my next car, this will be more of a family car with room needed for a dog, circa £350-£400 available per month and likely a few £1K to put down but not masses.
I have enjoyed the ease of a lease, as simple as a phone contract, brand new car turns up, no unexpected costs, however I think I may be ready to move on. The lease isn't overly flexible and finding a new one can be a pain and then end up settling on something for the sake of it.
In terms of cars, I am interested in SUVs and estates, be it X3, X4, Q3 and the sort. I'm not necessarily asking what car people would go for as I know relatively enough to make that decision, it's more the route to go down..
TLDR: Should I keep leasing or look at getting in with a dealership, going down the PCP route for say 3-4 years which will lead to more flexibility and the chance of deals/better cars in the future when salary increases etc. Or even a bank loan and buying a second hand?
Hopefully you understand what I am asking, I don't know a great deal about this kind of thing so any help is appreciated.
If you're thinking of PCP, I'd suggest looking at a personal loan first as APR's are very low at the moment & that opens up the lightly used market which gives you greater scope & a chance to get a deal.
The lase market is okay but you need to know what you want size wise then go on the Lease thread to see hat comes up.
