just watching Seal Team (I know, I know) and following on from an emotional one-two the outro music was Dire Straits: Brothers in Arms. Yes it is easy to sneer at this type of programme and, indeed, the relentless "Murica fk Yeah" sentiment of these types of programmes but it got me in the feels (as I believe the youth say these days).

What other tunes really match the mood (sombre or otherwise) of things you've watched?

An American Werewolf in London was an early adopter of such. CCR's Bad Moon Rising causes a smirk smile

Fight club’s soundtrack by the dust brothers is exceptional in my opinion.

Interstellar sounds incredible on big audio systems

Anything that Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have scored.

And possibly baby drivers sound track. Still undecided.

Cavatina - The Deer Hunter.

The juxtaposition between that beautiful piece of music, the symbolism early in the film and then the horror which subsequently unfolds is incredibly powerful. For me the most moving film I've ever seen and the music score is a central part of that.

Baby Driver, amazing attention to detail, the music plays a part of the story as the main character listens to an iPod all the time due to tinnitus, but also key scenes are designed around the tracks chosen (rather than added afterwards), in terms of timing and weaving in to the lyrics of the track to the street scenery.

It was used brilliantly in The West Wing ("Two Cathedrals") back in 2001, and rather tamely in comparison in the finale of "The Americans".

Always loved the theme tune to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It wasn't until 20+ years later I discovered what it was :

The Eagles - Flight of the Navigator - totally untypical Eagles track

It's 'Journey of the Sorcerer' I think, and yes, totally untypical Eagles.

Always thought the Soundtrack of 'O Brother Where art Thou?' was superb.

Woke Up This Morning by Alabama 3 nails it for The Sopranos (in my humble opinion).

Remember that TV series in the 1970's "Cosmos" with the brilliant Carl Sagan?

Whoever decided that this 3rd Movement from a piece by Vangelis was perfect for the intro was a genius:-

Nielson was an artist my Mum and Dad listened to back in the day as a result of which was an artist I avoided, as you do.

A few months back, watching an episode of The Serpent, Jump Into The Fire plays out at the end. Never heard it before but am now addicted to the track and hear it everywhere - most recently on Clarkson's Farm. Each time, it fits the scene perfectly.

I mentioned this to my now 89 year Mum who mentioned it was the one track of his they didn't really like!

Always play this when traversing the Lincoln Tunnel (Manhattan to New Jersey) ..... smile

All different now as the Ticket Booths on the NJ Turnpike have been replaced with E-Ticket/Cameras - but still always smile (touch wood flying out October for work)
