Just seen it pop up on the news, only 58.

Loved his dry and sometimes brutal sense of humour, will be missed.

What a shame, I was just watching some of his shows with Jimmy Carr on YouTube.

I didn’t even know he was ill

Probably the most consistently funny British comedian in the modern era, especially given how much exposure he had on television, his routines and schtick never became dull or repetitive. A sad loss for comedy and the rest of us.

Never even knew he had it. I always enjoyed his dry and off the wall humour.

He had been looking really quite gaunt for a while on Cats Does Countdown so presumed he was suffering.

Poor bloke.

Loved him on 8 out of 10 cats. Going to be odd seeing the repeats knowing he's no longer here. I'd like to think his final words were something dry to leave his family smiling.

I bet we don't get a single negative comment about the bloke or his comedy, which in this increasingly critical age is rare indeed.

I know he was off air for a bit, because of Lymphoma, but i thought he was recovering.

Poor bugger, brilliantly funny and loved watching him and it's a shame that ahole cancer has taken him.

shocked - same age as my dad when he died, also of cancer.

Cancer is a hateful thing that should make everyone question any suggestion that a god (of any kind) exists.

This is sad news.

Some of the stuff he came out with on Cats does Countdown was great.

I'm shocked.... had no idea he was ill, but in hindsight he did miss a few episodes of cats does countdown.

I was hoping post lockdowns he would tour as I've said a few times to the OH I bet he's great live.

RIP.

Very sad. RIP. Thought he looked/sounded unwell on recent 8 out of 10 cats, didn’t realise why.

Always found him laugh out loud funny, never knew what he was going to say next or where his stories would go. Will be missed!

Brilliantly funny and an original. They dont show it at all but 16 storeys high is just amazing as well as his standup. Constantly the most amusing
player in anything.
Condolences to his family.
