SRS Airbag service warning

I know its been done before,. but I cant seem, to find a post with an easy resolution. Have the above warning come on, I can see from other posts it means the airbags wont deploy. The car is obviously still under warranty but is there anyway I can reset this without having to messing around going to a dealer as I don't have any local to me

I would say you need to understand what has triggered the light in the first place, as it could be a number of things. I too had the light come on at one point after a change of the aircon condenser. In my case it turned out to be a loose connector on one of the two sensors either end of the cross member that sense a front end collision. I'm not saying this is the reason for your triggered light, but has anything happened or been done to the car before the light appeared?

To be honest, MMarkM, I know it's inconvenient but I wouldn't mess with your safety systems, especially as the car is under warranty. The car will have logged faults and it may log other stuff if you mess with it and if your dealer finds you have been playing around it could possibly affect your warranty. Worse still would be if you accidentally trigger something like the passenger airbag, as then you need a new dash top.

Why don't you call your nearest dealer and tell them of your predicament, say the car is undriveable and it's under warranty. They may arrange to collect it, or they may send someone to you who could have a look.

You didn't even mention what model is your car

I had my seats resprayed and the srs light comes on as expected

The reset procedure for a 2008 Vantage is to connect the obd reader into the body socket which in my case was on passenger side and clear all codes
