Help,
Any advice on refitting the LT77 back in. It just doesn’t want to fit.

Are you trying to fit it with the bell housing on?

I think they were. The box and bell housing were split whilst in the chassis to get it out.
It how to hold all the internals to try putting it back in 2 pieces.

I'm going to guess you have not fitted the clutch slave cylinder.
The slave cylinder has a spring inside it which is trying to push the piston out all the time. This in turn keeps the release bearing against the the clutch pressure plate fingers.
So with the slave in place all the parts of the release system pretty much stay in the right place.

Steve

PS the spring loaded slave is also the reason why the slave mounting bolts are so long making it easier to instal.

I’m not sure what they have done. I think the issue is that the the LT77 is bolted to the bell housing from inside the bell housing compared to from the T5 which bolts from the outside of the gearbox to the bell housing.
