Attached pic.

Random ink mark on light leather. Can't work out what it is? Ink or something else...

How to get this out?

Think you could easily cut it out with a pair of sharp scissors.

Read somewhere about using hairspray to remove ink from leather, try googling it.

I'd have a go with magic eraser sponge (there are various brands of this).

Give it a gentle rub (ooer)

Surely the first question is

“What car is that in?”

If it’s a shed, one answer, if it’s a limited edition super car… another

No. No. No. Typical old wive's tail ste.

Some mild soap (for example, Lux Flakes, although other brands are available) or saddle soap with a little bit of warm water and a soft sponge will lift almost all removable marks from treated leather. If it doesn't then it isn't mark but an abrasion and some colour-matched leather dye is the way to go.

Then I’d outsource it - get a pro to do the work for you. Then you know it’s being done well (or have redress if not, or at least it’s not your fault!)

It looks like a mark from denim. Someone's been wearing jeans in the car.

It can't be because nobody has sat in the front passenger seat for a long time, partly because we have a baby seat behind!

Have a go with this stuff. Colourlock are leather specialists and produce fantastic products. There’s a stronger version of this if it doesn’t quite do the job.

Does your wife have a black/ dark leather handbag or purse?

Looks like the kind of marks a football gets from black boots etc. Possibly from gently placing (throwing) her bag on the seat whilst dealing with said child?

Soft cloth with soapy water might shift it. Pop some leather renovator on after and keep folk off it until that has soaked in properly to prevent marking clothes....

Forgot to say if that doesn't work I'd second getting a professional to sort for fear of anything else making it worse..... and your fault too obviously!

Thanks for the tips!

I'm starting to wonder if it's a bit of hand sanitizer that's leaked onto the seat. There's a bottle that was kept on that seat so it could be that. Still... an odd mark.

Will look at the options raised above!
