Picked mine up this morning. It's ace.
I've been in company cars for the last 20 years, some ace ones and some average ones, so when the shackles were removed I wanted to get something that was more of a drivers car. I cast around some second hand options but the borkage factor was too much for me, so I looked at a nearly new Hyundai I30N, but I keep seeing them doing drag races o the M40, and too many have added stupid rally style mudflaps, but the I20N was announced, the numbers looked good, so in I went.
It's a bit early to tell what it's like to drive as it has a running in period, but it's very nice to sit in, ride quality is acceptable even on rough surfaces but it handles very well. The tech is also ace.
My plans are probably to keep it standard, although I may need some brake mods as I do intend to track it as the warranty practically encourages it. It'll likely be a keeper as no more ICE post 2030. So long as it is reliable that is.
PH rated it marginally worse than an ST, it's personal choice but this wins for me as it is so much rarer and the tech is better.

Nice I work in a dealer that has Hyundai as a brand the are certainly on a role ATM. We got 2 i20n one in blue the other Red with black highlights which is my favourite colour. So tempted by the new i30n but not sure I could stomach 37k for one.
Track warranty is very appealing though will certainly attract people.
Hope you enjoy the car.

I like these as a somewhat left field choice. Respect to Hyundai for producing hot hatch with a bit of an edge.
do you think its a left field choice? for me it was straight down the middle. just got back from a run in N mode, the noise is great!
can't get my head around the tech though. programmable N paddles and car play without a lead.

Looks great, congrats and enjoy!!! I test drove one earlier, and put my order in... was fortunate one of the dealers other branches had one available, so get to collect it within next few weeks. Went for the white one, liked the contrast between black spoiler and wing mirrors.
I think mine was originally scheduled to be someone else's demo, but now I have it. The dealers were telling me that they had a choice of i30n DSG or i20N for demo, so I reckon there's less than 60 in the country and on the road at the moment.Dynion Araf Uchaf said:

Default for me in that class is Fiesta ST. I find the styling a bit challenging on the Hyundai. I like that it's distinctive and different, just not sure I actually like it or not just got back from a run in N mode, the noise is great!

The engineering is there and I really like how they've made a drivers car.
Funny you mentioned track days being encouraged. I did an extended focus group on the i20n back in 2017 or so.
They were extremely interested in drivers of Clio RS and Fiesta ST and especially those who tracked their car. At one point, they gave us a range of possible "extras", which included an N branded helmet with some kind of telemetry in it.
It was clear to me that they were very much focused on the track day element of the car.

I’m a blue oval man, but would love to have a test drive in one of these to see how it compares - they’re getting brilliant reviews.
Please keep the thread updated.
will try to. Going on a long motorway drive today, not quite what you want to know about, but at least I can see how it performs in normal circumstancesPlease keep the thread updated.
