Hi all .... Looking for a Macan as a second car for the wife who will maybe cover 8K PA max.
Question is.. are higher milers (say 60K) ok as long as the Transfer Unit has been replaced? along with FSH obviously.
Anything else to look out for?
Thanks
I'm on my third Macan in 7 years and so far I've had no major problems at all, not even a transfer box although as you've pointed out these are a known problem and Porsche GB has now extended the warranty on these to 7 years to compensate. They do have some other minor gremlins I've heard of like getting the sunroof drain channels cleaned out regularly or risk the interior getting wet, the rear wiper can wear out very quickly although I've not suffered this on my current car and there have been some reports of oil leaks from the engine but I don't think that is very common. Generally they are quite reliable and fairly practical in a pretty good fun to drive package.
If you head over to https://www.macanforums.co.uk and introduce yourself, there are a lot of very helpful people who will gladly share their collective knowledge and point you in the right direction if you have any more detailed questions.
I did 36k in my gts over 3 years. I was unlucky that mine had the oil leak on the snapped cam chain cover bolts, they picked it up on the first service as I had never noticed it.
I think transfer box is the only other biggie really.
I’d guess at those miles budget for brakes, I think iirc the 60k service is a big one as well
