Is it possible to transfer monies from a credit card (MBNA, Virgin or even AMEX). I need to send circa 2k to a company in Greece for a downpayment on a boat trip, but they don't accept card payments over the phone or online due to fees involved.

If you want to use a CC for the back-up, but they give you no way to you use one, I can't think of an answer.

If the company is of sufficient stature to want £2K for a boat holiday deposit, I'm surprised the cost of an e-commerce system is prohibitive for them. But then, it is Greece. Maybe they want a bundle of drachma strapped to a donkey!

Bank transfer? But then you have no security if they fold.

Sounds dodgy to me....

How sure are you about this company ? How much are the fees ? I'd consider paying the fees for the comfort of paying with a card that means I'm covered if said trip never materialises.

Greece has not exactly had the best banking and financial stability record. Personally I'd look elsewhere for a deal.
