Different noise from engine area !
Discussion
Anyone comment please.......( 4.3 Grif )
Went out for a good blast yesterday in the last of the good weather, drove the car hard , but not excessively, after about 50 miles and 10 miles from home, pulled onto motorway in normal TVR fashion, as I slowed to the speed of the traffic, engine was making QUIET popping/crackling noises which continued whilst I stayed in inside lane considering my options. All dials read ok....stangely it seemed like these noises were coming through the sound system , which was definately switched off. The performance of the car was not altered in any way, and after leaving the motorway ( another 8/9 miles )and not exceeding 50 mph these noises disappeared. I left the car ticking over on the drive for 5 mins. and all sounded well .
Perhaps I'm being oversensitive, but in my 3000 miles of ownership , car has not misbehaved in any way.Visually under the bonnet all seems ok.
Any comments would be appreciated/ hopefully lots of bored Griff owners on line this wet cold Sunday afternoon.

I would put money on the level being back to 4 inches below the pressure cap after a decent drive. Most people recommend that the level is filled to half way up the expansion tank.
Just a thought but I had cracking noises when my head gasket went due to wtaer boiling in the oil. If the water level has dropped it might have gone into the oil. So chcek the oil level hasn't gone up and that there is no mayo in the oil filler cap and with the dipstick. If so don't drive the car. Recover to garage and decide which body part you want to sell...

If I top mine up to 2 inches below, it seems to blow out coolant until it settles back to about 2 inches from the bottom of the tank. Is this right for a 500 Griff?
Sounds fine - they all seem to have their own level, which is different on an individual car basis. I wouldn't worry unless one of the other warning signs is present (mayo on dipstick etc)

Steve, pleased to report no body parts for sale...as no mayo around filler cap/in rocker cover/dip stick or increased oil level......will have to remain a mystery until weather improves and next trip out.
