Cermic Coating DIY
Discussion
I've used Avalon King Armor Shield on mine, but as other have said, its all about the prep, then maintaining it, so far it's done about 2 years, to be honest it needs to be re-polished and have it re-applied to get it back to how it was when it was first done, however the toppers are keeping it presentable until I can find the time to get it all done again.
I would say with the ceramics they are not a one stop 'never have to wash my car again' product, what they do (as long as the prep and application are right) is make it much easier to do the maintenance washing once they are on.

C1 is more forgiving. If you mess it up you can polish it out. Hand polish takes longer. By hand it’s 3-4 attempts. Machine is a one stop. As others have said prep is key. As is maintenance. To prolong the coat and get the most from it you need to buy into the ecosystem of compatible ceramic shampoo etc. Don’t forget curing. Many need to avoid water/wash for 48 hours else they end up with semi-permanent water spots.

I'm going to go with carpro cquartz 3 with gliss as a topper seems to get good reviews and prep before hand swirl removal decontamination etc
Great choice. It doesn’t really need Gliss as a topper, it has excellent characteristics by itself.Anyone who has said GTechniq C1 - this doesn’t fill his brief. C1 is not a hydrophobic coating at all, it’s an old quartz coating that is hydrophilic quickly. Exo v4 is also pretty poor as a topper with poor durability and chemical resistance. CSL is better but CQUK 3.0 is just as good and cheaper.
