Just recently i have started to notice some'clonking'noises, from what i would imagine is the suspension, the clonk only happens when straightening up after having the steering on full lock in either direction.Would i be right in assuming that its the bushes that might be worn out, the car is just over 2 years old with 18k on the clock.
I would be grateful for any help please.
Thanks Dave

Certainly sounds like a bush. Could be a steeering rack mounting/bush too though.

My first Tamora had a bit of this - it was the steering rack bushes which had "dried out" and needed regreasing. Not a big problem.

The same has started to happen to my T350t and it is only 11 months old with 4k on the clock. Particularly bad cracking sound from undertray when entering my driveway at an angle over a cambered bit of road (ie. twisting moment on chasis). It's quite disconcerting as it now does it when cornering hard(ish). Are you sure it's the steering rack bushes???

I've just had mine back from the dealers after 42k service and investigation into banging/cracking noises at low speeds, worse over rough ground or speed bumps and/or when turning the steering wheel. (Sounds like the same problem you are having) - I've had this for a good few months as it was originally thought to be an exhaust shield issue as it is much worse when the car is hot (due to ambient temp rather than engine temp.

It needed dampers all round and a number of bushes & ball joints - noises were definitely dampers.

Along with disks and pads all round it turned into a very expensive job!

Car much better now, noises gone and damping much more compliant and progressive (amazing how much difference it's made). Anyway, I guess if it gets used everyday you need to expect these kind of bills.

Unfortunately the car also had a number of sensors (water & oil) replaced, due to a bad/incorrect batch of water sensors the ECU is going berserk - 75degC outside temperature yesterday morning apparently, 70l of fuel all the time, 140degC water & 120degC oil.

I've had to turn both engine on and off buzzer levels to 0% to stop the continuous beeps! After all this time the indicators now thankfully 'sound' like a normal car!

Just found out this morning what is causing the clonking on my T350c front suspension, Both of the top ball joints a knackered!!
So now you know what it might be if your car has the same knocking noise.
