Hi,

I handed in my notice a few weeks ago and on an official 3 month end date.

It just seems to be assumed that I'll be staying on for the 3 months at the moment, nobody is making the effort to see if I want to go early put it that way.

I really want to start my new role asap tbh, they are happy to wait 3 months, but I know they'd want me asap.

Any advice here to exit earlier ?

Ask your employer. If you haven't made them aware that you want to leave earlier then HR will just follow the 3 month process as normal.

Ask your employer, why would they assume you want to shorten your notice period?

If you're doing a job and they haven't replaced you, the company you are leaving will certainly not be volunteering for you to go early. Why would they?

First step is to actually ask them if you can leave before your notice period ends which, from your OP, it seems you haven't done.

Whether they'll agree or not really depends on what job you do, what your replacement status is, what size of company, etc, etc.

Has anyone else been allowed to leave early?

Thanks (and others).

I'll raise this again formally tomorrow, I originally hinted but never directly stated I want to leave earlier.
