Anyone work for Glencore, BHP, Rio Tinto or Anglo American?

I have two quick questions for anyone who works for one of the big mining companies.

1. How many miles of tunnels are in a typical mine?
2. How many people and vehicles work in a typical mine?

I am working with a high-tech sensor company that can track things in real-time underground.
Going to be great for improving mine safety and for self-driving trucks...

As a mining engineer (not for any of the above), I would answer that there isn't really such a thing as a typical mine


Miles of tunnel is probably irrelevant as a high percentage will fall out of use or be sealed off over time - or used for ventilation & rarely travelled

People & Vehicles depends on mine output, mining type, whether vehicles or conveyors used for rock transport etc.
