Do Disney films make you well up??

I was watching the Lion King with the missus last night and during that intro with the "circle of life" music playing i was welling up espcailly when the monkey lifts the cub up in the air and all the animals bow.
What's wrong with me, i'm turing into a big girls blouse!! :eek:

Does this happen to anyone else (any other guys)?

I remember crying at the end of 'An American Tail'. The one with the Russian mouse who loses his family on the ship to America and finds them at the end...a real tearjerker

Prob best to avoid the Lion King show (or whatever its proper name is), at Disney's Animal Kingdom then - the end (when they involve many of the kids in the audience) is very moving.

No, they have no effect on me but the Touchstone films involving fathers and daughters are always a bit touch and go. Sadly, real life isn't like that.

What HAS Disney got against Mums?

In more films than I care to count, Mum is either dead or otherwise absent (Dumbo's mum is unfairly imprisoned). I can't think of many where both parents are about.

Yes!! this is another thing too!!! i have to watch it alone so that the missus doesn't see me well up.
That little girl with cancer than makes bead necklace's to raise cash for a cancer charity, or that family of 8 were the father has taken in about 4 orphens and raised them. Only to have a huge house built, cars for all 8 people and the mortgage paid off. When that guy started crying...

I’ll tell you what made me boo my eyes out a little while ago. I was watching Live8, one of the clips they show between performances and they showed a trick the mothers use on their children to get them to sleep when they are hungry. The mother gathers a dozen or so large stones, puts them in a cooking pot with water near where the children are lying on their beds, so that they child can see what the mother is doing. Each time the child asks when food will be ready, they mother says ‘Soon’ and she begins to stir the pot that only has stones and water in it. Eventually the kids fall asleep, thinking that there is food so sleep better.

I remember the morning after we went ot see An American Tail, a mouse died in a moustrap in the kitchen. I walked the mousetrap into mom and dad's room and said "Mommy, you killed Fievel"

Mom cried, I laughed. Even at 9 years old I was a sick, sick bastard.
