I thought I’d post this as I have posted a lot about my ill-advised purchase of a white Audi Q3 which ultimately spent most of its life sitting on the drive. I know some of you have keenly followed my posts.

Well my Q3 astonishingly reached positive equity thanks to the market distortion of used car prices. We traded in my Q3 and my wife’s Countryman for a new Audi Q5 Sportback, which is shared by us and driven every day.

Better still, we put no cash down and it costs less per month than the Q3 did! That’s thanks to the positive equity in the Mini and an Audi loyalty discount.

The Q5 Sportback is huge. It’s very luxurious, but it truly is a very boring car to drive. A very detached experience. But that’s outweighed by how easy and relaxing it is to drive.

By contrast, the Q3 was not a truly premium car. It was a pretty cheap and low end car, but it was far more sporty to drive, and sportier looking, than the Q5.

Overall it worked out well. Thanks to all those who gave their wisdom.

Happy to hear that things worked out well for you in the end.

The original thread was pretty entertaining though.

We did shop around but the service from rival brands was abysmal.
