Manufacture or Manufacturer?

Something doesn't sit quite right.

We have new delivery vans and the writing on the side says 'Manufacture of windows and doors for the trade, commercial and new build markets'

I'm thinking it should be 'manufacturer'

Am i not firing on all cylinders

Could be either, they're both valid in slightly different ways.

I'd probably have gone for "manufacturer" myself.

I wouldn't worry - window fitters are thick as mince anyway and won't notice

"Manufacture of windows and doors...(etc)" is probably what it says on their incorporation document and/or tax return but that is in response to "Nature of business:" or similar. So it is verbatim from the official document. Personally, I would go for Manufacturer, but I can see why they did it.

It's not about the fitters, it's about the public perception of the company as portrayed by the billboard advertising on the sides of the vans.

The Rs are of the utmost importance.

Get busy with your Rs asap, OP.

You Manufacture something. Then you become a Manufacturer.

So someone selling something is the later.

Not all sellers are manufacturers, some manufacturers may be sellers. Apart from that you're doing OK.
