BMW software updates
Discussion
I believe my car's too old for remote updates (2016 F15 X5) but I've come across this site that comes up when I search "BMW software updates UK", and if I enter my VIN there is an update available.
Firstly, is it genuine (it looks it) and secondly is it appropriate for a UK car as it's a .com site rather than .co.uk?

Yes it’s genuine and no you won’t brick your car. It’s solely an update for enhancing existing features. Like your BMW personal assistant might learn a few more tricks. Your music menu might change to show hidden options. So it’s basic and harmless.
For a full car software update you would require dealer level software.

Thanks, it was just the iDrive update I was after so that seems to be the one. I'll try and find exactly what the updates are before updating For a full car software update you would require dealer level software.
