Anyone know what this button does?

After 14 years of ownership the only function I have seen is that just occasionally, usually after about 20 minutes of driving on a really hot day it starts flashing, without me touching it, and the windows wind up and refuse to come back down until I turn off the ignition and restart. That seems like a strange kind of function to me so I assume it has some other more useful one.

It should deactivate the outside opening buttons, you know - for when youre going through a dodgy area (though so few people know how to get into a cerb anyway i wonder why they bothered ..) ..

Cheers. I'll check that function! Figured it must do something other than trying to cook me. Although all of this suggests a fault somewhere if broiling humans is not the intended function
