Just ordered my RSR's, should be here soon :-)

Wondered if anyone had any experience of 'Motorsound Airfilter Covers' see link:-

Is it worth the extra spend?

Cheers

I can't help you with the air filter but I am equally interested to hear about the experience of others. Apparently you can just drill your original air box rather than buying the motorsound one.

I fitted my RSRs last night. They make quite an enjoyable sound. My first impressions are that perhaps a bit more noise would be desireable, hence my interest in a drilled air box.

RSR + motorsound airbox?

I loved it so much on my 993 C4S that i did the same when i got my 993 C2! Unfortunately i don't think the 993tt version will sound as good, but i'm trying to find out...

As for drilling the airbox, you can, but then you can't "go back" easily, unless you simply apply duck tape to the outside of the airbox to cover the holes.

I got a genuine motorsound airbox from JZ for £80. That way if i was going a long way with the g/f and she moaned about the noise i could put the normal airbox back on (motorways and stuff).

Of course these days i'd just get a new g/f

Drilled my airbox and added RSR's. To be honest, after you have the RSR's you won't really notice the added noise from the airbox anyway, or at least I don't.

I have a properly drilled 993 airbox on my car.
I would happily swap this for an original box and would throw in a new Porsche air filter as well, if anyone is interested?

The Motorsound package (drilled airbox and exhaust tips) was sold a part of the Porsche Techquipment range for the 993. IMHO if it doesn`t do anything Porsche wouldn`t have offered it!

So basically, according to Porsche, it should either sound better or at least look better!
