It’s a skill in short supply, and time consuming. Expect to pay maybe a few hundred quid if it is a serviceable movement.

I must qualify that by stating that I'm a hobbyist not a professional watchmaker, although I do seem to be the first port of call for all things horology related locally . Anglesey Watch & Clock for me. Joe is very busy and this makes him difficult to get hold of, but you wont find a better quality/cost/integrity in any repair. You can pack it securely and post it to him and take it from there.

He has done Rolex to Seiko for me, through Omega, Oris, TAG Heuer and Heuer stopwatches.

That's a lovely watch. I have my eye on an Avia Olympic, similar look and vintage, for around £40 that would also need sprucing up. Would be keen to know how you get on.

I think it was £170. More then the cost of the watch. But as my Grandads which I can wear, no where near the value of the watch!!

For me, spending on a sentimental watch is worth it.
I did it on my late grandfathers Longines, and now I cherish it, even though I spent more on it, than what it is worth.
