Hi everyone, I'm new to this and I have searched all over the Internet for the answer to my question with still no look. So I thought one of you clever people on here might no the answer.

I am looking to get my Ford Focus 2015 estate re mapped and I have been looking for the max torque that I can put through the gearbox. I have read that the car currently is 270nm and just wanted to get all the information before i go ahead with the re map.

Any help would be much appreciated or if anyone has the same car and re mapped it what was it like did you have any issues etc.

Thanks
Jason

I assume that yours is a six speed. The 1.5's have the light duty six speed B6 (6MTT250) which is rated to 285Nm.

The larger, heavy duty 'box is called the MMT6 (6MTT450) which is rated up to 450Nm - it's fitted to the 2.0

A remap would take you beyond the design spec of the B6.

Will it break instantly? Likely not if you look after it i.e. don't thrash it in 1st and 2nd, and yank through changes.

Thank you for the reply and information it is most helpful. I think I will leave the re map then as I do tend to have a heavy right foot especially in 1st and 2nd gear and i don't want to be replacing my gearbox.

Great reply and very timely. I have a 2018 1.5 Connect 120. I've hung back from remapping it precisely because I suspected the box might not be up to it. Thanks for confirming it.
