Looking for a Generic Cable Release

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a cable release for use on camera's that do not have a dedicated socket.

The type I'm looking for is fastened to the camera using a velcro adjustable strap. I'm not after one of the metal bracket type that screws into the tripod socket. I need to keep the tripod socket free.

Have tried E-Bay but my searches have thrown up nothing.... well loads of normal cable releases but not the sort I need.. :banghead:

Think I'll have a go at a diy one over the weekend...

I'll look at jessops as a last resort.... Any time i go in there no one seems to know what they're doing and they always have to look up the price on the computer of whatever you want !!!
