£500 TV

I'm in the market for a new TV to replace/upgrade a >5 years old 37" base-spec Samsung. I have a budget of £500, size range 43" to 50".

Currys do a HISENSE 50A7GQTUK 50" QLED TV for £499 - is that a reasonable buy at this price point or would I be better off with a "branded" (eg Samsung) 4k LED TV?

Argos has a Samsung QE50Q60T for £549 which I could stretch to but they have no stock.

I don't really know anything about TVs so any input appreciated.

I got a 58" Hisense at Coscto recently for £399 including 5 year warranty and its good.

It has "Google TV" built in but rebranded, I also have a proper Google TV device plugged into it anyway.

I.be got a hisense we use in the garden and it’s fine, the menus are a little dated but it’s good value for money. Mine cost £350

I just purchased a QE50Q65T Samsung direct from their website.

Its fantastic. Would highly recommend looking there, they even offer 0% interest for upto 3 years, if thats helpfull to you.

Is something like the Hisense or Samsung QLED better than a similarly priced 4K offering from Samsung or LG? I was originally looking at something like the TU7000 or AU7100 but now can't decide. Hopefully going to see a few tonight.
