I probably will do nothing but here goes.
Like the next man/woman on PH the need for pressing the loud peddle now and then is in me, but only really done on a clear dry motorway.
Recently round my way I have noticed that owners of certain type of car "mid engined V8 with looks that are spoilt with a front number plate" are using the loud peddle in areas and conditions which I consider irresponsible.
The local authority aren't that good at maintaining the road surfaces. In fact there are places in the road where moving into the centre of the road is the sensible thing to do.

Make yourself a fake speed camera and stand at the roadside in a high vi's vest pointing it at the offending drivers, that usually goes down well.

Perhaps complain to the council and they will figure out what to do. If they get enough complaints or there are enough accidents, that road might become a priority for speed bumps, cameras etc.

I hate speed bumps but do consider them necessary on some roads frequented by genuinely life-endangering bell ends. I live near a 20mph road which is straight but really busy with lots of driveways, shops, side-streets, zebra crossings and a secondary school. 30 and getting tailgated is a bit annoying but not a big deal, but every tenth car or so treats it as a drag strip. Couple of months ago a backstreet mechanic lost control of their customer's RS3 while doing 70-80, and it barrelled into a load of houses. Bits of it were strewn over a hundred metres away.

Are you asking about driving down the middle of the road?

Are they Irish, and mis-read their driving licence application where it says "tear along dotted line"?

Or are you saying you don't like mid-engined V8s?

I think so far the collective PH wisdom is asking for you to actually detail what it is you want.

Well in fairness i can think of a few roads so terrible i play dodge the pot hole on that they've still put speed bumps on. Left the potholes in place as well though.

That's not what I said, nor is it an answer to the question asked.

Efficient/value engineering during road maintenance? No. Of course not.

Refusing to maintain them as a method of keeping speed down, then yes, it's a myth.
